Metka Arah, attorney-at-law (1958, Maribor), graduated from Faculty of Law, Edvard Kardelj University of Ljubljana (1980).
She started her professional career at the court of first instance in Maribor (1980). After having passed the bar examination (1981), she continued her career as an assistant at the Maribor Higher Court (1981―1983), and subsequently as a judge at the court of first instance in Maribor (1984―1986) and as an advisor in the legal office of the Slovenian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (1986―1992); since 1993, she has been working as an attorney-at-law.
Metka Arah, attorney-at-law, received her Master's degree in international public and private law and international relations from Faculty of Law, University of Zagreb (1987), and her Doctor's degree in the narrower scope of political science from Faculty of Political Sciences, University of Zagreb (1994), her doctoral thesis being entitled “Europska politička suradnja; od Europskih zajednica do Europske unije” (“European Political Cooperation; from the European Communities to the European Union”).

She upgraded her professional expertise also abroad.
She actively uses the English and Croatian language at her work.
She mainly specializes in administrative and civil commercial law.
